There is only one thing in this life which you have complete control over and that is your attitude ~ War of the Worlds

Description of yourself:

My love of English started when I was a young child; pretending to read books well before I actually could. My mother’s old poetry books were my first adventure, later we were introduced to the library and then as a teenager I discovered novels.

At 16 I found myself living with my family on a sailboat and books became even more important to me, as teachers and friends.   And so my love for the English Language grew; alongside my general knowledge of the world and my ability to communicate more effectively.  Being in a position today to facilitate in the learning of this Language and guiding new Teachers is one of the most fulfilling things I have done in my life.

Qualifications:

TEFL Diploma ~  2002

I was employed as a permanent teacher by TIES between 2002 and  2004 at their Helderberg College School and later at their School in Stellenbosch.  I returned to TIES in 2010 as a full time teacher and over the following 7 years also became deeply involved in TEFL training courses hosted by the school.  I now work freelance for TIES as a TEFL trainer and assessor.

Description of the school:

The TIES family have always been welcoming and supportive of all its teachers and students. We have recently moved to spacious premises in town and a new atmosphere fills the air. This school has prevailed over many years due to its simple ethics of no fuss or frills. We have one goal and that is to motivate and inspire through Language.
